CARTOGRAPHY

GAMES

This map shows the kindgdom of Permia. It has bright blue seas and consists of three islands. The smallest has a mountain and jungle. The next has a super volano. The largest is the mainland and shows a mountain range through the middle with a desert immediatly north.

A red circus style border with a displacer beast and manticore holding a sign reading Obscurius Per Obscurium. A brambled border surrounds a circus map showing a big top tent, a maze, fairground, hot air balloon and carnival entertainers.

Land is shown with a mountainous area at the top and a sea to the bottom. A small volcano sits on its own island within the sea. Multiple towns can be seen throughout the land.

A harpy on the border is seen breathing a toxic purple smoke showing an area out of bounds. The mainland can be seen jutting into the ocean from the bottom right of the map.

Werewolves peer over the edges of the border of this map as if they have peeled away the edges. mountains lie to the north of this land and a river runs out to sea through the middle horizontally.

A Kraken ties rope around the border of this map which shows land to the West, sea in the middle and south and a clouded area to the East.

BOOKS

Created based on the book Stardust by Neil Gaiman. This map shows the village of wall with a faerie market to the north of a predominant wall.

Created based on the book The Clackity by Lora Senf. This grayscale map has a eerie feel with long shadows coming from the buildings.

Created based on the text The Fall of Numenor by J.R.R Tolkien. This map shows a star shaped island in the middle of the sea with a tidal wave approaching from the North West. A mountain sits in the middle of the island and the map is marked with important places. Created on toned paper with black outlines and red text.

This map shows a journey across the Atlantic Ocean undertaken by a rowing team. The route is signposted with their journal entries. This shows a mock up in a book.

TRAVEL

BUSINESS

Created as a re-design for a zoo map to be more easily readable than the current design. It was also used as a basis for an experimental Augmented Reality mapping system around the park. Colourful animals are drawn to symbolise what can be seen and where in the zoo.
